How often should you brush your dog’s teeth?

Ideally, brush your dog’s teeth every day. If that is not possible, several times a week also helps.

According to the AVMA, the American veterinary association, brushing is the most effective thing you can do at home for your pet’s teeth. Daily works most, but a few times a week already helps. Use pet toothpaste, never human toothpaste.

  1. First get your dog used to a finger along its teeth
  2. Put a little dog toothpaste on a soft brush
  3. Brush in small circles along the outside of the teeth
  4. Reward your dog afterwards
