How often can you give blood?
In Belgium you may give blood at most 4 times a year, with at least 2 months between donations. Giving every 3 months fits within that.
This is a maximum, not an obligation: your body needs time to replace the blood taken. At Rode Kruis Vlaanderen you also wait at least 4 weeks after giving blood before giving plasma or platelets. Whether you may donate is decided by the Red Cross at each appointment.
- Check whether you can donate via the Red Cross website or app
- Book an appointment at a donor centre
- Eat and drink normally beforehand
- Plan the next donation no sooner than 2 months later
