How often should you replace a CO alarm?

Replace your CO alarm every 5 years, or sooner if the date on the device says so.

The sensor in a CO alarm loses sensitivity after a few years, even if the device still seems to work. The exact lifespan is on the alarm itself, usually 5 to 7 years.

1. Check the manufacturing or expiry date on the device
2. Order a new CO alarm
3. Mount it in the recommended place (at breathing height, near the appliance)
4. Test right after fitting
