How often should you replace wiper blades?

Replace your wiper blades at least once a year, ideally in autumn before winter.

The rubber of wiper blades hardens from sun, frost and dirt. They then leave streaks and you see less well in the rain. Many drivers replace them before winter, because frost and road salt put extra strain on the rubber.

  1. Check whether the wipers streak or squeak
  2. Look up the right size for your car
  3. Lift the wiper arm and unclip the old blade
  4. Clip on the new blade and test with washer fluid
