How often should you wash your curtains?

Wash or vacuum your curtains once a year. Kitchen curtains can be done twice a year.

Curtains catch dust and smells from the air, so odours and allergens can build up. HEMA says 1 to 2 times a year; kitchen curtains get dirty faster and deserve the top of that range. Always check the care label first.

1. Check the care label for temperature and programme
2. Take the curtains off the rail
3. Wash or vacuum according to the label
4. Hang them back up, ideally slightly damp to reduce creasing

30 to 60 minutes.
