How often should you file a boiler certificate?
File your heating boiler’s maintenance certificate after every service. For a gas boiler, that’s every 2 years.
Proof of timely maintenance is often requested during an inspection, an insurance claim such as a CO incident, or the sale of your home. Keep the certificate with the maintenance log and note the date of the next service straight away. If you have an oil-fired boiler, you get a certificate every year.

In Flanders, servicing your boiler is required by law: every two years for a gas boiler of 20 kW or more, every year for an oil-fired boiler of 20 kW or more and for solid-fuel boilers. The obligation is about that servicing; this task is the reminder to keep the proof of it.
