How often should you oil a wooden deck?
Oil or stain your wooden deck once a year, in spring.
Untreated outdoor wood weathers, discolours and rots faster because of moisture. The sign that it’s time: the wood looks dull and faded. Let the wood dry completely first and respect the drying time on the label.
- Clean the wood and let it dry completely
- Lightly sand where needed
- Apply a thin, even coat of oil or stain
- Let it cure fully according to the drying time on the label
