How often should you have your roof inspected?
Check your roof once a year, for example in spring, and again after a heavy storm.
Minor damage to tiles or seams quickly leads to leaks and damp in the structure when it rains. If your roof is 15 to 20 years old or more, have it checked twice a year. From the ground with binoculars you can already see a lot.
- Look at the roof from a distance or from a stable ladder
- Watch for shifted, broken or missing roof tiles
- Check edges and penetrations (chimney, roof window) for seams
- Note your findings and plan repairs if needed
