What is a flush?
A flush is one wave of mushrooms that comes up at the same time from the same block, bag or bed. After a harvest the substrate rests and often a new, usually smaller flush follows.

That differs per species and product. Oyster mushroom kits give up to 3 flushes, the grey oyster pack 3 to 4. Button mushrooms give 3 to 4 flushes in a cycle of 7 to 10 days, king oyster usually only one. Lion's mane: 4 to 6 flushes according to Field & Forest, up to 3 according to the Belgian kit.

The oyster mushroom pack rests 10 to 14 days between flushes, beech mushroom and nameko about 20 days. Let shiitake dry for 7 to 14 days and then soak it.
